WHETŪ MĀRAMA MĀKORO MARAE

E ngā Anahera Pono, kia noho koutou i roto i tēnei whare, hei manaaki i te hunga e tomo mai ana ki roto i tēnei whare. Te Hunga e pūhia ana e te hau, uaina ana e te ua, pōwhiritia e koutou kia uru mai ki roto i tēnei whare, kia mahana, aa, kia kaua anō hoki e māku e te ua.     Te Whetū Mārama o Te Kotahitanga, Paraire Noema 21, 1930 Oh Faithful Angels, dwell and remain here in this house. To care for all people that enter within you. Those that have been blown in by the winds, drenched by the rain, welcome them in this house, keep them warm, so they don’t get wet by the rain.

Ko Tākitimu te waka,

Ko Whakapunake te maunga,

Ko Te Wairoa te awa,

Ko Ngāti Mākoro te hapū,

Ko Whetū Mārama Mākoro te wharenui,

Ko Rangimārie te wharekai.

This whare once stood near where the original Te Huinga o te Ora once stood.  The only remnants of this whare are the chimney bricks which will be used in the re-building of the wharekai for Rāmoto Kireara marae. The whānau / hapū are at stage two of the concept design plans phase of the re-build.   The whānau / hapū are looking to the opening of the marae complex in 2025.
